MISSION STATEMENT
St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church is part of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh. As a faith community and parish family, we dedicate ourselves to welcome, celebrate and care for all of God’s people, according to our Byzantine Catholic traditions and customs. Background
The Reverend Father Kevin E. Marks was born on June 30, 1978. He graduated from Hubbard High School in 1996. He then entered the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of Saints Cyril and Methodius pursuing an eight year formational and academic program towards the Holy Priesthood. He graduated from La Roche University, Pittsburgh, PA in 2000 with a BA in Religious Studies. He completed the next four years of graduate school at the Byzantine Catholic Seminary. On May 23, 2004, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by the late +Metropolitan Archbishop Basil M. Schott. Having served pastoral assignments in Uniontown, Morgantown, Aliquippa, and Ambridge, Fr. Kevin was appointed to serve our St. Michael Church on March 14, 2014. In addition, he also serves as pastor of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Hermitage, PA. Fr. Kevin also has many roles in the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh. He is the Vocation Director for the Archeparchy and serves as a member of the Presbyteral Council, College of Consultors, Priests Pension Board, and Chancery Staff.

Keri L. (Kinnick) Vokish is a native of the city of Campbell. She graduated from CMHS in 1994. She then attended YSU earning her BS in Elementary Education in 1999. She then attended Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA, earning her Masters Degree in Teaching Administration. She was hired as a teacher for the Campbell School District in 1999 and has been a teacher there for the past 23 years. Currently, she teaches 5th grade Science and Social Studies at Campbell Elementary. She also serves on committees within the school district. At St. Michael Church, Keri serves as ECF (Eastern Christian Formation) Coordinator and is the 2nd grade Catechist. She also leads the Youth Group and their activities and outings, Vacation Bible School, and the religious goods showcase in the narthex. She is an ex-officio member of the Parish Advisory Council, photographer for GCU Lodge 360, and on the 100th Anniversary Committees.

PARISH MEMBERSHIP:
We welcome anyone to become a parishioner of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church. Only those who are registered and attend are considered members of the Parish. When one registers to become a parish member, he or she assumes the responsibility of rendering stewardship of time, talent, and treasure to this parish family. Worship at this parish is always expected. Registration is done only through the pastor by appointment. The parish office should be notified as soon as possible with any change of address as well as one’s leaving if that be the case.
HOLY MYSTERIES OF INITIATION (Baptism, Chrismation, Eucharist)…
Initiate must be a registered, active, supporting member of the parish family. A pre-baptism form and instructions are required. Contact Fr. Kevin to schedule. All three Sacraments are given at the time of baptism.
HOLY MYSTERY OF CROWNING…
At least one of the engaged couple must be a registered, active, supporting member of the parish family at the time of marriage. The couple must meet with Fr. Kevin before setting a date and reserving a banquet hall. An approved Pre-Cana program is required. The wedding ceremony will be celebrated according to the prescriptions of the liturgical book of the Byzantine Catholic Church.
HOLY MYSTERY OF RECONCILIATION…
Reconciliation is offered before or after weekend Divine Liturgies. You may also make an appointment with Fr. Kevin to go to confession.
HOLY MYSTERY OF ANOINTING…
The Holy Mystery of Anointing is offered upon request, usually before major surgery or during serious illness. Call Fr. Kevin to schedule.
VISITATION TO THE SICK…
It is the family’s responsibility to contact the pastor for sacramental visitations. Hospitals or care facilities do not call the parish due to privacy laws.
FUNERALS:
Families of the deceased or the funeral director must contact Fr. Kevin before setting and publishing the day and time of the funeral.
SPONSOR LETTERS:
If you are requesting to have a letter needed to be a godparent for a baptism in another church, you must be a registered, active, and supporting member of this parish. Fr. Kevin will not issue good standing sponsor letters if you are not.
